Development
This week you are about 1.5 inches long and wiggling all around. (Mommy thinks she is feeling your movements with little fish/butterfly like flutters). She felt Warren early also, but I think you beat his record!
This week marks your final week as an embryo.2 Some of the amazing events happening inside that little life this week include:
- All the baby's major body organs have started to form.3
- Baby's nose, mouth, and eyes are taking shape.
- Tooth buds and caps are becoming recognizable.4
- Fingers and toes lose their web look and get longer.
- Eyelids continue to grow and are closing.5
- The outer ears are forming and moving into place on the head.6
Some websites say that your sex organs have formed but not yet visible on an ultrasound. Mommy can take a blood test to find out but we are waiting until a few more weeks at an Ultrasound on April 21st. That’s your great grandma Gigi’s birthday! I’m sure she will be smiling down from Heaven!…We will see you but tech won’t reveal the sex. She’ll put it in an envelope and your great grandma Richards will be the one to make the cake for the small family gender reveal party that weekend.
The baby excitement is growing! Love you! MIMI (grandma!)
