Extra Day in the Hospital

 Mommy felt light headed, shortness of breath and tightening in chest plus raised blood pressure….so she had to remain in the recovery room longer than normal.  The OB wanted to rule out a heart condition or blood clot (especially with her blood disorder- MTHFR)…which meant more tests, and no visitors since she is still in the recovery section of L & D…well Mommy broke down and cried!!! She missed the other kiddos and wanted Gracyn and Warren to meet Owen sooner rather than later.  The nurses working with Caitlin rearranged a 5 minute small family visit with just the two kids!  (Luckily all tests checked out fine)…Mommy did have a postpartum hemorrhage and lost a pint of blood…this could have been the reason for the rough start!

38w6d- Induction!!!! Natural Delivery!

 Oct. 18, 2022- Arrived at the hospital at 8:36pm…First cervical check 2.5cm, cervix is 75% effaced and -3 station. Pitocin will start at midnight when she reaches 39 weeks exactly- hospital rules!

Oct. 19, 2022- 5:59am- Contractions finally getting stronger and more consistent.  Pitocin is being disliked up every half hour now.  Owen keeps shifting off the monitor.  Nurse says that’s a good sign that he may be moving into position!

6:34am- Contractions every 3-4 minutes apart…breathing is deeper than before…pain level 4/10

8:00 am- -3 station, 3cm, broke water!  OH MY- It sounded like a river!  Nurse joked and said there must have been 2 gallons of fluid in there!

11:00 7cm, 80% effaced, -1 station…Getting baby warmer ready!  Also took some Nubane to help relax her muscles and take the edge off the contractions.

 

11:15am- She felt the baby move down!  Look at the difference in the belly with no water in tact and baby shifting down!

 

11:44am- 8-9 cm, 90% effaced!

12:00 pm- 9cm, 0 station, 90% effaced!

12:35pm- Plus 1 station, small lip of cervix….trying not to push!

1:02pm- Happy Birthday Owen Joseph!

38w6d- Last Belly Pic and Art Work from Gracyn!

 

38w5d- OB NST

 Last NST and OB check…A few contractions during NST, but Cervix is still 2.5cm,  but softer at 70% effaced and -3 station.  So the last weeks Membrane sweep did little to nothing!  This time during the check, there was more blood…maybe she did another sweep…time will tell.  Still going in for the induction on Tues. night 38w6d!

 This time next week, Caitlin will be induced!  Will she make it to her induction date….Hard to tell since she is continuing to have contractions!   But less swelling and her wedding ring fits again!

 

37w6d- Working from home now!

 Caitlin’s OB put her on modified bed rest…working from home now!  This is the belly with a contraction….see how lopsided it is! 

This was a photo from later in the day….She has ankles now!  The rest is doing her good…but contractions still on and off!

False Labor (cont’)

37w2wd- Mommy and Daddy thought for sure this was the day!  Caitlin’s contractions were 2-5 minutes apart and consistent!  She was 2.5 cm, 50% effaced and -3 station.  Sadly, no progress and was sent home to do the early laboring at home.  When Caitlin got comfortable at home, she fell asleep and the contractions subsided!  UGH!!!

36w6d OB appointment

He is measuring 94th percentile. Head is down 🙌🏻 and measuring 40w6d 😵‍💫😳still having contractions on and off. Still dilated to 1cm. Cervix is soft but still long. Weight was estimated around 8-9lbs depending on where they measured. They gave me the go to do everything to induce labor 👍🏼🤞🏻still keeping induction date. She didn't sweep my membranes today but the plan is for next week.. Ultrasound pic shows him all scrunched up with his balls near his face! And I'm pretty sure I see hair!!😉

36 Weeks Belly!

Prepping!

Just pumped about .5 oz of colostrum. I want to take some to the hospital to help stabilize his blood sugars if needed depending on his latch. Make sure to remind Joey for when we head to the hospital when it's time!

32w5d- OB appointment

 Mommy had an OB appointment today:

Tomorrow she is 33 weeks.  Next week she starts weekly non-stress tests.  At 36 weeks, if you are still breach they will do an external aversion to get you into position for birth.  At 37 weeks they will strip Mommy’s membranes which could start labor. AND if you still haven’t decided to make your debut, Mommy has an induction date of 10/18/22.  They will admit her at 8pm….if anything like other pregnancies, my guess is that you will be born on 10/19/22 around 1:00.  ….curious to see how close I am to my guess.

31 and 32 Weeks Pregnant with Belly Shots!

 During weeks 31 and 32, Mommy had steroid injections into her eardrum and sweet baby Owen is handling it well while Mommy has normal Braxton Hicks contractions over these two weeks. Biggest baby developments includes practice breathing, kicking, swallowing and sucking, plus big growth spurts.  About 1/2 pound per week!    Here’s the belly pics!
